Respiratory illnesses like influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) can spread year-round, but infections usually peak during winter and can spread quickly through households.

Some people are at higher risk of serious illness, particularly young children, pregnant women, older people, Aboriginal people and people with certain medical conditions.

Free influenza and RSV vaccines are available for eligible South Australians to reduce the risk of serious illness with influenza. These vaccines can often be given at the same appointment.

Talk with your GP or immunisation provider to check your eligibly and book an appointment.
