International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2025: Inclusion Begins With Action

Disability is part of human diversity. Many barriers arise not from the person, but from environments that were not designed with everyone in mind. Today is a reminder that small, evidence based changes can create spaces where everyone can participate and thrive.

This year encourages us to focus on

✔️ Accessible environments in workplaces and public spaces
✔️ Clear communication that supports different needs
✔️ Inclusive physical activity and movement opportunities
✔️ Attitudes that prioritise respect, dignity and equity

It is not about doing everything perfectly. It is about consistent steps that strengthen participation, independence and quality of life for all.

As health professionals, promoting accessibility and inclusive practices helps build communities where every person is supported and valued.

On November 8, we celebrate World Radiography Day, the anniversary of Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen’s discovery of X-rays in 1895. His discovery revolutionized medicine by allowing clinicians to see what was once invisible: bones, tissues, and the underlying structures that shape our movement and health.

At Evidence for Exercise, “seeing beneath the surface” resonates deeply with what we do every day. Just as radiography helps reveal the source of pain or injury, evidence-based exercise helps us understand the why behind human movement, the biomechanics, physiology, and neuroscience that guide how we prescribe and progress exercise for rehabilitation.

At Evidence for Exercise, our mission continues to be translating that evidence into movement, making the unseen science behind recovery clear, applicable, and empowering
