FOOL’S PARADISE – A LITTLE HISTORY 🩷
What began as a playful romance between two clowns during the Adelaide Fringe Festival — we met outside the Exeter, danced on a Monday night in the Garden with chai lattes in tow — one Swedish, one Australian — became a love story that somehow travelled the world.
Fool’s Paradise was created during the strange suspended time of the pandemic, born from long-distance romance, letters, video calls, and the absurd hope that love could survive closed borders. Two working-class artists navigating finances, visas, bureaucracy, and the intensity of being in close quarters during a global shutdown.
Without giving anything away, what followed was a show made from very simple things: household objects, disco, puppetry, and two ridiculous hearts trying to make sense of the world.
Since then the show has travelled across festivals, won awards, evolved with every season, and been shared with audiences in intimate rooms full of laughter, tenderness, and chaos.
Tomorrow at 5pm marks the second-last Adelaide performance of Fool’s Paradise, with the final ever performance on Saturday 21 March.
A goodbye to this little show that carried so much of my life inside it — so much of my heart. Directed by one of my best friends, Jess Clough-MacRae, and with enormous help from a love past — Paul. Disco ball and wedding dress costume by Chelsea Farquhar. Produced by Richard Jordan Productions in association with Pleasance across multiple seasons, with so many dear friends assisting as puppeteers and technicians along the way. This final season with the brilliant Roshan Conn.

Sunday 15 March 🌙✨
This Sunday we’ve got a brand new line-up for RATTLE & REVERIE: A Late-Night Yurt Rump.
After dark, the Yurt hums with restless hearts.
Rattle & Reverie is a fever dream of cabaret, comedy and drama — a collision of rhythm, revelation and late-night abandon. Beneath the lattice glow, a rogue ensemble conjures laughter, longing and something beautifully unhinged.
A little raucous. A little tender. A revel for the curious.
Featuring a rotating cast of Fringe favourites leading the rumpus into the night.
