Heysen 105 Training week 9/16
Managed to get sick twice in one week. Yay me! Somehow still got in 2 good days of training, then felt terrible on the 3rd. Had a 30% drop in running volume from my de-load the previous week. Hopefully I can get a decent week of running in this week and get back on track.
I’ve made some adjustments to the plan and I might not get in the 2 weeks of +100km during my peaks of training, but I wasn’t expecting to actually build that volume at the start. It was just the ideal scenario.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens from here. Still aiming to send it for city-bay in under 2 weeks as well 🏃💨

Heysen 105 training week 5/16
Started this week feeling great after Mt Crawford last Sunday, until I went for an easy 60 min run Tuesday. Had a bit of a sore calf and didn’t realise until I started running.
Kept it much easier than planned for all my runs this week, as much as I would really like to send it for a 20 min 5k attempt. Regardless, I pulled back.
Then on Friday my HR was suddenly much lower than usual, I’ve got a comparison at the end of the slides from 2 months ago. I didn’t think I’d ever see average HRs of low 140s (I’ve always had a very high HR). Maybe I will see it continue to drop 🤔 keen to see how these recent adaptations to high volume continue to change over the next 3 months.
Happy to still be able to hit 200kg for deadlifts. Also excited to see how Barossa Marathon goes in 2 weeks!
