A Very Proud Mama Moment! 💖
Nothing beats the vibe of a bustling morning at the Sunday Funday Markets, but last weekend was extra special for our little family.
If you stopped by our stall, you might have seen a very enthusiastic 7-year-old helping out. Our daughter, Amber, completely blew us away by coming up with the idea to make her very own "cake balls" for the market. She tracked down a recipe online, rolled up her sleeves, and got to work handcrafted-style right alongside mum in the kitchen!
She tried her best to sell her gourmet and artistic Cake Balls to our customers. We are so incredibly proud to say her little creations completely **SOLD OUT**! 😭✨ Hearing all the lovely comments from local families about how much they loved the look and taste absolutely made her day (and ours!).
As a mama, seeing that little spark of creativity and hard work come to life is the greatest reward. Thank you so much to our amazing Adelaide community for supporting our girl and making her first market venture such a magical success.
**A Quick Update for Our Market Lovers:** We will actually be skipping the upcoming market in July, as part of our team will be travelling overseas for a little break! ✈️

✈️ Can an artisan ever truly stop learning? I don’t think so.
To keep our custom designs at the absolute forefront of the high-end market, I will be overseas this July. We are hunting for fresh, premium inspiration and advanced techniques to bring straight back to our Unley studio.
Because we refuse to compromise on our handcrafted standards, this means our kitchen capacity is going to be strictly limited next month.
We are temporarily hitting pause on our paint-your-own sessions, dine-in high tea, and fresh cream cakes until the final week of July. However, our signature celebration cakes are still very much on the menu.
If you have a milestone or a birthday coming up in July, you need to lock it in right now. Once our limited winter slots are full, our diary closes completely.
Do not miss out on our signature, ultra-moist Victoria Sponge and silky Swiss meringue buttercream just because of a calendar clash. It is the light, less-sweet alternative to heavy mud cakes that your guests will actually talk about.

🚨 Spoiler alert: The secret to an unforgettable party isn't the decorations. It is the moment the cake is cut.
I was chatting with a busy parent at our Unley studio earlier this week about how stressful party prep gets. Between school runs and life, Friday sneaks up fast. That is why Thursday is always our crunch day.
Because everything we bake is treated like a piece of edible art, our weekend schedule closes by tonight. If you are celebrating this Friday to Sunday in Adelaide, today is the day to jump onto the website and lock it in.
When you choose us, you are not getting a heavy, traditional mud cake or a generic sponge. Our signature cakes are built on a light, incredibly moist Victoria Sponge—elevated by our high-end Hong Kong heritage. We layer it with silky Swiss meringue buttercream, crafting a balanced, "less sweet" profile using natural ingredients. The same care goes into our cupcakes and Basque burnt cheesecakes. They look breathtaking in photos, but they taste even better.
If you are picking up this weekend, here is my absolute best piece of advice for serving:
Let the cake breathe.
Our premium buttercream needs to be enjoyed at room temperature (around 20°C). If you keep it in the fridge overnight, please take it out 3 to 4 hours before serving while keeping it right inside its box. This protects it from condensation and ensures that velvety, melt-in-the-mouth texture your guests will rave about. (For cupcakes, 2 hour out of the fridge should be enough).
