3P Football Training
So I watched a man cut grass tonight.
He cuts grass for a living.
But this was his grass.
He still just cut grass. To get the job done.
In other parts of the world he would have enjoyed cutting his grass. It would have been his lawn.
Not grass. Not just to get the job done.
But to create something beautiful.
Made me think about Australian football.
It’s set up to get the job done.
Not to create something beautiful.
Maybe we should mow and not cut.
Maybe it’s lawn and not grass.
Maybe it’s a pitch not a paddock.
Maybe it’s football not soccer.
Giving Ownership to the youngsters is our role.
Pathway to football starts at the AHJFA.
Hopefully for those that are worthy it ends at Man City or Barcelona.
I haven’t stopped dreaming just yet. I know I could play for Adelaide Utd. But I really want to play for Man City.
Never stop dreaming. ❤️⚽️

This has to be the best piece of music to walk on to a football field. All about winning and not winning but the absolute joy of trying to win playing the best football. Such a joy at that moment. An ode to how hard we try and an ode to joy when the realisation comes true. Love Football.

Me and Fin played Soccer Dads Friday night. It was a wonderful experience. So welcoming. And a wonderful choice of donation as well to Carers and Disability Link.
For our warm and fluffy feel-good end of year donation we gave $1000 to Carers & Disability Link. It will be specifically directed towards Young Carers in the Adelaide Hills.
A Young Carer is a person aged between 5 and 25 years whose life is impacted by the care needs of someone who experiences a chronic or long-term illness, a disability, a mental illness, an alcohol or drug problem or has dementia or is frail and/or aged. This person will help care for this person via practical tasks, personal care or emotional support.
It's not much, but hopefully it is helpful.
