Self acceptance is the cornerstone of self care regardless of body size, shape or weight.
You are not a number, or a size.
Your health is so much more than what you look like. Your body is powerful.
Becoming your healthiest self begins with accepting yourself and your body, not focusing on what size it is.
Improving your health should be a compassionate process, focusing more on what you want to gain out of life, rather than what you want to lose.
Let’s focus on healthy day - to - day behaviours, rather than weight loss.
Let’s focus on;
✅ getting stronger
✅ engaging in pleasurable exercise you actually enjoy
✅ eating foods high in nutrients
✅ getting adequate sleep
✅ staying hydrated
Reconnect with your body’s cues to make decisions about what you need now. Find playful and purposeful motives for moving that aren’t tied to weight loss goals.
Know that your worth is not based on health or what size you are.

Now I’m a believer in vitamin supplements… to a point.
Sure, take vitamins if you’re
1)deficient in a specific vitamin OR 2) you don’t eat enough of a certain food due to a medical condition or 3) are vegan, however most vitamins you can get from actual food and it’s probably better and healthier this way.
Vitamins are needed to make your body work properly and come from plants and animals.
Vitamins are found in:
✅ Fresh food
✅ Frozen Food
✅ Canned foods
Your body makes energy from the food you eat. Vitamins are needed to help you use the energy that comes from the food you eat. They’re also needed for strong bones and to help your body fight infections.
If you’re pregnant, you should take folic acid and the doctors may recommend extra iron or vitamin D.
Vegans may need a Vitamin B12 supplement, extra Vitamin D, Omega - 3 fatty acids and iron supplements
I take fish oil as I don’t eat fish or seafood. I take Magnesium because I can’t eat nuts and legumes and so I have a pretty low magnesium intake.
I take Vitamin C and Quercetin supps for immune system health.
Everything I take has a purpose but other than that, I prefer to get my vitamins from real food.
Taking vitamin supplements is also a short term measure, it shouldn’t be used over a long period.
If you feel you could be lacking in certain vitamins, it may be better to look at changing your diet and lifestyle rather than reaching for supplements.
If you need help, see a doctor or dietician.
