Terrestrial Anthropocenes
Scientific Illustration of Adaptation of the Economical University of Vienna for the needs of Reptile Educational and Research Center with Sanctuary of Invasive Species
Pre-diploma project by
WS22/23
Constantly increasing temperatures result in climatic shifts, causing the spread of species out of their natural boundaries and becoming invasive, hibernation and reproduction cycles are affected, resulting in forced migration or starvation.
What if we built not just for us, but also for other living creatures, who are sharing the same space with us? Microperformative structures, which act like living organisms, deteriorating and growing in cycles just as nature does, might be the hope.

We would like to cordially invite you to the book launch of Re: Action
Urban Resilience, Sustainable Growth, and the Vitality of Cities and Ecosystems
in the Post-Information Age as well as the opening of WIEN>AI!
Re: Action puts forward the pedagogical trajectories and design works that revolve around sustainable urban development and the architectural response to the challenges of urbanization and environmental risks. Directed by Prof. Hani Rashid, the book indicates the fronts of action and the multifaceted architectural efforts toward urban resilience, sustainable city growth, and contemporary design strategies that defend the vitality of urban and natural ecosystems.
Through a unique insight into the intersection of technology and architecture, “WIEN>AI” offers an opportunity to explore the current research conducted at Studio Hani Rashid at the Institute of Architecture at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. The exhibition showcases the future of urbanism and deployment of radical architectural solutions that utilize artificial intelligence (AI) primarily as a design tool. While AI's potential applications in architecture are vast and uncertain, this exhibition takes a critical approach to its nascent capabilities and current limitations.
Date: 1st of June, 2023
Book Launch: 6 pm
Exhibition Opening: 6:30 pm
Address: Zentrum Fokus Forschung, Rustenschacherallee 2 - 4, A-1020 Wien

RE_CA2
Reconsideration of Conventional Architecture in Central Asia
Pre-diploma project by
WS22/23
The RE_CA2 intends to rethink the typology of conventional architecture in Central Asia using the example of a neighborhood in the old city of Tashkent. The city's old quarters with narrow streets are the bearers of the city's DNA. Attempts to relocate citizens to modernist-designed neighborhoods have threatened the disappearance of traditional interaction forms between citizens. The project transforms low and mid-rise houses in connection with the city’s public venues.
