Unter dem Motto A PLACE THAT WON’T STAY verabschieden wir uns von 10. bis 13. Juni mit FOR NOW von Karin Pauer & Aldo Giannotti, einer Nacht voller Abschiedssongs mit Queereeoké und der großen Abrissparty von KISSEN mit GATAFIERA (live).

In June, our five-year stay at brut nordwest will come to an end – and with it, Kira Kirsch’s eleven-year tenure as artistic director. But until then, we have a packed spring programme: from Arno Böhler and Susanne Valerie Granzer – Philosophy On Stage #6, Frans Poelstra – THIS MOMENT WITH YOU, Der Betrieb – The Season of Narratives, DARUM – Auflösung, to Nesterval – Donaugold. Under the motto A PLACE THAT WON'T STAY, we will bid farewell from 10 to 13 June with FOR NOW by Karin Pauer & Aldo Giannotti, a night full of goodbye songs with Queereeoké, and the big party by KISSEN with GATAFIERA (live).

Get us some Stravinsky, but make it punk. Six performers dive into their childhood dance memories, drills and fairy tales to rewrite The Firebird as a modern, feminist fairy tale about power, memory and liberation in the dance world. Hairy fairies, raw ballet and a cathartic choreography of self-empowerment to Igor Stravinsky’s iconic score.

Wer erinnert sich noch an die Flashmobs der 2000er – lange vor TikTok & Co.? In FLASHMOB geht Stefanie Sourial diesem Phänomen zwischen Hedonismus und Aktionismus auf den Grund und vermisst es neu für die Gegenwart. Gemeinsam mit dem Publikum entstehen Reenactments berühmter Flashmobs – und im besten Fall jenes fliegende Glücksgefühl, für einen Moment als Gemeinschaft Widerstand zu spüren.

Who still remembers the flash mobs of the 2000s – long before TikTok & co.? In FLASHMOB, Stefanie Sourial dives into this phenomenon between hedonism and activism and remeasures it for the present. Together with the audience, iconic flash mobs are reenacted – chasing that fleeting rush of collective joy and resistance in times of crisis and collapse.
