You don’t have to think of yourself as “musical” to begin. At Creativity Lab, you can explore, learn at your own pace, and discover what becomes possible when you give yourself permission to play.

Du musst dich nicht für „musikalisch“ halten, um anzufangen. Im Creativity Lab kannst du ausprobieren, in deinem eigenen Tempo lernen und entdecken, was möglich wird, wenn du dir erlaubst, einfach zu spielen.

We are a music school in Vienna for people who once thought they weren’t musical.

Many people carry that belief from early music lessons or from something they were told along the way. At Creativity Lab, we see it differently: music belongs to everyone. And when people make music together, something beautiful begins to unfold.

In an ensemble, we start to listen to one another and complete one another. Some hold the rhythm, others add melody, and together the music becomes larger than any one person. The focus shifts from individual perfection to the shared experience.

Research shows that making music together supports emotional well-being, reduces stress, and activates parts of the brain connected to learning, connection, and joy.

Our Ukulele Ensemble meets once a month in our Nussdorf studio in Vienna’s 19th district and is guided by our wonderful teacher Uygar, who leads the group with great musicianship, patience, and warmth, making the learning process both accessible and enjoyable.

The ukulele is a small instrument with big joy and a wonderful way to experience music in a relaxed group. Many people come to their first class feeling unsure and leave surprised by how natural and joyful it feels.

All levels are welcome and you don’t need to read notes. The class is trilingual (German, English, Turkish) and open to all ages. We learn a fun repertoire, celebrate mistakes, and focus on the pleasure of making music together. Afterwards we usually continue the afternoon together in the local pub.

The first trial class is free. If you’ve been curious but hesitant, this is a gentle place to begin.

An unsere Creativity Lab Community,

Wir leben in Wien, einer Stadt mit einer starken musikalischen Tradition. Viele von uns hatten klassischen Musikunterricht. Dieses Erbe verdient Respekt. Und dennoch begegnen wir immer wieder Kindern und Erwachsenen, die aus ihren ersten Erfahrungen Sätze mitgenommen haben wie: „Ich bin nicht talentiert.“ „Ich bin nicht kreativ.“ „Das ist nichts für mich.“

Wenn der erste Unterricht zu streng, zu schnell oder zu leistungsorientiert erlebt wird, kann sich ein solcher Glaubenssatz festsetzen. Mit der Zeit beeinflusst er das Verhalten. Menschen hören auf zu versuchen. Sie bleiben der Musik fern, manchmal über Jahre. Das ist schade, denn Musik ist kein Luxus. Sie wirkt wie ein Vitamin für unser emotionales Wohlbefinden. Und sie ist für jeden Menschen zugänglich.

Wir sind eine andere Art von Musikschule. Das bedeutet für uns: Wir unterrichten mit Geduld. Wir schaffen echte pädagogische Sicherheit. Beziehung steht vor Leistung. Wir achten darauf, wo jemand innerlich blockiert ist, und gehen diesen Schritt gemeinsam. Fortschritt darf in einem menschlichen Tempo geschehen. Unser Unterricht findet auf Deutsch, Englisch und Türkisch statt. Wir arbeiten mit Kindern, Erwachsenen, Familien und auch mit Organisationen, die sich über Musik verbinden möchten.
