Title: "In the Shadow of Love" Mark I

On the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution on November 17, which led to the downfall of the communist regime and the transformation of the political system into a pluralistic democracy, I celebrated by completing a sculpture titled "In the Shadow of Love." This sculpture is dedicated to the World Day for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Exploitation on November 19.

Medium: Sculpture
Size: The figure of the child is life-sized (125cm)
Installation dimensions: 170 x 140 x 100 cm

When I was little, my parents often told me that I was the reason they did what they did. When they did something they didn't enjoy, they would say that I was the reason. When they argued, they claimed that I was the reason. When I wanted to pursue something that interested me, they told me that I would have it for a lifetime once I stood on my own feet. If I did something they didn't like, it was met with physical or psychological punishment, and they said they did it for my own good, and one day I would thank them for it. There were moments when I delved into the darkest thoughts. Yes, today I thank my parents for how much they were limited, selfish, and unhappy. Through their actions, they helped me realize how crucial love, trust, and joy are in life.

Contemporary slavery is a serious problem that violates fundamental human rights. It is associated with exploitation, affects people across various sectors and concerns different social realities. Each one of us bears some responsibility for the existence of this problem, whether directly or indirectly.

The figurative sculpture titled “You Can Buy Me” I unofficially installed to commemorate the International Day for the Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade on August 23. on Piccadilly Circus.
