She recently returned home for her grandmother’s funeral, and before leaving tonight to live out her dream of joining the United States Air Force, she stopped by to visit us… bringing homemade cookies she baked herself. 🍪

That simple gesture meant so much because it reflects exactly who she is — thoughtful, kind, grounded, and full of heart.

From being a Ta’iala Peer Leader to becoming part of our Intersections family as an employee, Leilani has always carried a spirit of service and leadership that made people feel valued and cared for. Watching her step into this next chapter makes us emotional, proud, and excited all at once.

Leilani, thank you for the love you’ve poured into others and for always staying connected to the people and community that helped shape your journey. We are so proud of you and will be cheering you on every step of the way. May God protect and guide you as you begin this new adventure. ✈️🇺🇸❤️

We had the pleasure of attending the Empowered Pathways Summit on Advancing Sexual Assault Prevention Through Collective Action hosted by one of our valued NGO partners, the American Samoa Alliance Against Domestic & Sexual Violence, at the ASCC Multi Purpose Center.

Today’s summit created space for important conversations surrounding sexual assault prevention, survivor support, accountability, and the harmful social norms that continue to affect our communities.

Keynote speaker Tuiloma Sina Retzlaff, a leadership development professional known for her work in adaptive leadership, systems advocacy, and culturally grounded approaches to change, challenged attendees to reflect on how harmful behaviors are often minimized, normalized, or excused through the misuse of cultural and religious values.

The discussions throughout the day highlighted the importance of creating safe spaces, supporting survivors, and encouraging accountability within our communities.

As the summit continues, we look forward to learning more from the panelists discussions and will continue sharing some of the important insights and lessons gathered from this productive event.❤️‍🩹
