Raúl Juliá's final role was the villainous M. Bison in Street Fighter (1994), which he filmed while dying from stomach cancer. Juliá's children loved the Street Fighter video game, and he accepted the role of the villain M. Bison so they could see him in something they enjoyed. Despite severe illness and filming conditions, Juliá committed fully, bringing intense energy and charisma to the role. Raúl Juliá died on October 24, 1994, at the age of 54, from complications following a stroke, which was brought on by his ongoing battle with stomach cancer, two months before the film's release on December 23, 1994.
