The 11th Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court (2017/2018)
Arbitrators’ Association of the Republic of Armenia provides opportunities for law students from Armenian universities to participate in the Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court (www.investmentmoot.org) which is co-organised by the Wilhelm Merton Centre for European Integration and International Economic Order and McDermott Will & Emery.
The team from Armenia will be recruited and coached by the Arbitrators’ Association of Armenia based on a defined procedure and the Council of Europe Project ''Support to the implementation of the judicial reform in Armenia'' will finance the participation at the team from Armenia at the general rounds of Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court. This part of the Council of Europe Project is funded by the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and is implemented by the Council of Europe.
The Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot Court is the international student competition focusing on investment protection. It is the oldest and most prestigious student competition in the area of investment protection law. Its focus is on the oral presentation of legal arguments before an arbitral tribunal composed of specialists in the field during a one-week final event, which takes place in early or mid-March of every year.
Venue
The upcoming competition will be held in Frankfurt from 12-16 March 2018 and registration of teams closes on 15 December 2017.The general rounds will take place in Germany.
Criteria
• Applicants must be citizens of the Republic of Armenia;
• Applicants must be fluent in English;
• Applicants must be enrolled full-time or part-time in a program of study leading to the equivalent of a State exam or a LLB with any qualified universities in Armenia. If a student is enrolled in a Master's program and would like to compete in the Moot Court, he/she needs to seek prior agreement from the organisers;
• Students shall not be registered in a bar association;
• Preference for applicants with knowledge and experience in international arbitration and public international law;
• Preference for applicants able to travel to Germany.

Letters of Expression of Interest for Participation must be received by October 16, 2017 in order to be eligible for consideration and may be submitted electronically.
