We’re excited to welcome Dr. Erik Arakelyan, Senior Researcher at NVIDIA, to DevFest Armenia 2025! ⚡️

Talk: Shrink It, Skip It, Compress It — Speedrunning Fast LLM Inference

LLMs are powerful, but real-time inference is still a major bottleneck. In this session, Erik frames LLM acceleration as a “speedrun” and walks through a practical toolkit for faster, cheaper inference — from sparse attention (skipping redundant compute), to quantization (shrinking precision without losing quality), and FlashAttention (optimizing memory access for throughput). Expect a theory + practice blend aimed at real production impact, including edge deployment considerations.

Erik is a Machine Learning Researcher at NVIDIA focused on reasoning in AI, explainability, and knowledge graphs, with a PhD from the University of Copenhagen.
