𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗼𝘅 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 “𝗔𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗻”: 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗹𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻?
The most successful nuclear weapon… is the one that is never used.
Strange, right?
We’ve built systems so powerful, they’re meant to never actually function. That’s the paradox at the heart of modern security.
Over time, the narrative has shifted:
From “winning wars” → to “preventing them.”
Nuclear weapons are no longer just tools of conflict—they’ve become symbols of survival.
And with that came the idea of the “Red Button” — a single point of ultimate control.
But here’s where it gets complicated 👇
Deterrence is often presented as the only way to maintain peace.
A defensive shield.
Yet in today’s world—full of evolving conflicts, interventions, and blurred lines between war and peace—this story feels… incomplete.
So maybe the real question is:
How safe are we, actually?

Do nuclear weapons still prevent war—or are we just used to living with the risk?
