Market opening for Brazil in Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan: joint MRE/MAP note

The Brazilian government has concluded phytosanitary negotiations that established the requirements for the export of common beans and black-eyed peas to Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

The four countries are part of the Eurasian Economic Union and together have around 36 million inhabitants. In 2024, Brazil's total exports to these destinations totaled approximately US$38 million, with Armenia, the main buyer (US$26.3 million), standing out.

The opening of the market to common beans and black-eyed peas reinforces the export potential of products in which Brazil has a tradition of planting. common beans, the basis of the Brazilian diet, has wide acceptance in different markets and can serve varied segments of retail and food industry.

Black-eyed peas, with notable production in the North and Northeast regions of Brazil are economically and socially important because they boost the income of small producers. With these announcements, Brazilian agribusiness has achieved 519 new market openings since the beginning of 2023. These results are the result of joint work between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa).
