Around 8 out of every 10 Afghan people drink unsafe water, which can lead to a variety of health issues, including diarrhea, cholera and other waterborne diseases. Inadequate access to clean water is a major problem in Afghanistan and is a consequence of decades of conflict, poverty and lack of infrastructure. Poor sanitation, lack of proper hygiene and inadequate water supplies all contribute to the problem. Much more needs to be done in order to ensure that everyone in the country has access to safe, clean drinking water.
