Cover is the thickness of concrete measured from the nearest outer surface of reinforcement. Cover is mainly provided to protect the reinforcement bars.

In RCC structure reinforcement provided in concrete up to a specific distance from the face of the member. In this article, I will discuss the differences between clear cover, nominal cover, and effective cover.
Purpose of Providing Cover:
1. To protect the reinforcement from corrosion.

2. To provide fire resistance to the reinforcement.

3. To provide adequate distance in order to develop required stress by reinforcement.

What Is Clear Cover?
Clear cover is the distance between the outer surface of concrete to the nearest surface of reinforcing bar.

➖ زمان گیرش اوليه سيمان پرتلند: ۴۵ دقیقه پس از اختلاط کانکریت است

➖ زمان گیرش نهایی سيمان پرتلند: ۶ ساعت پس از اختلاط کانکریت است.

➖ تمامی عمليات اجرای کانکریت به غیر از عمل آوری آن، یعنی عمليات اختلاط و حمل و ریختن و تراکم و پرداخت کانکریت قبل‌ از شروع گیرش اوليه سیمان، یعنی در مدت زمان کمتر از ۴۵ دقیقه، بايد به‌ پایان برسد.
