Since 2009, my career has taken me to the Middle East (to live and work out of Dubai in the wider region, most recently working with Saudi companies) and South East Asia (mainly Malaysia, Singapore and a client in Philippines). I love cultural diversity and learning about societal and corporate culture. I have learned a lot these last years on etiquette and business norms in different counties and cultures.

Even big organisations like Amazon.com get it wrong when it comes to implementing effective governance and social controls. The practice of withholding tips from drivers and using the monies to pay the drivers breaches the contractual and ethical obligations towards these flexi drivers. The fine of $61.7 million comes after a Federal Trade Commission investigation. This was first revealed over two years ago by Los Angeles Times.
