Something special is coming!

Beloved friends and family, we are safe and well, even as the sounds of conflict surround us. We were woken in the night by loud explosions, and the attacks are continuing into the morning. It is terrifying to hear missiles and drones overhead, so close that we can see them from our balcony. Yet we are grateful to God and to the quick response of the UAE’s air defenses for keeping us safe. Remarkably, the UAE Ministry of Defense reported that 137 ballistic missiles and 209 drones were launched toward the country, and that the vast majority were destroyed or intercepted. By God’s grace, limited damage has occurred despite the huge number of attacks. We thank the Lord for this protection, which feels like a miracle under fire.

In the face of these attacks, we focus our hearts on Christ, our Savior and Prince of Peace. Jesus reminded us that “in this world you will have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world”, so we place our trust in Him. We praise God for giving our air defense forces strength and wisdom to intercept the attacks, preventing the unthinkable damage that could have occured. Our safety is evidence of divine mercy even in war. In uncertain times we lean on Scripture: the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. We stand firm on these promises and thank God for being our refuge and strength.

We lift up these heartfelt prayers to God, asking for His intervention and peace:
• Protection: For everyone in harm’s way, that God would be their shield and stronghold. We thank Him for protecting Dubai and we pray He continues to guard all people and property, turning aside danger.
• Peace: For all who are impacted in conflict, that the Almighty would bring peace and reconciliation. We know that true peace comes only from Jesus, our Prince of Peace. We ask God to calm hearts and silence the weapons of war, so that the cry “peace” may replace the sounds of battle.
• Leadership: For the world’s leaders and decision-makers, that they might have wisdom and compassion. The Bible urges us to pray for “kings and all those in authority”. We specifically ask God to move the hearts of those who hold power – that they
