At RAYS Foundation, we believe that every child deserves access to books that inspire, educate, and empower. Many children in our communities still lack the basic resources needed to learn, dream, and grow.

Join our "Donate a Book- Back to School" Project by contributing new or gently used books for children and young adults.

📌 Drop-off Locations: Abuja, Kaduna and LAfia
📌 We accepts Financial supports as well
📌 Duration: September 8th – September 30th
📌 Books Needed: Exercise books, Textbooks, Dictionaries, Bag packs, Mathematical sets, Pen & Pencils and educational resources

In celebration of the 30-Day Challenge, today we spotlight a powerful trailblazer who laid the foundation for women’s empowerment and civic activism in Nigeria — Chief Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti.

👑 Local Hero | Woman of Influence | National Icon

Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti was not just a woman ahead of her time; she was a force of change. As Nigeria’s first female student at Abeokuta Grammar School and the founder of the Abeokuta Women’s Union, she courageously led thousands of women in protests against unfair taxation and colonial policies.

🌍 Her Legacy Includes:
✅ Leading one of the largest women-led movements in West Africa
✅ Advocating for women’s rights, education, and political representation
✅ Becoming the first Nigerian woman to drive a car
✅ Inspiring generations, including her children — most notably Fela Kuti, who also became a global icon

🗣️ She once declared:
“Women must have a say. Women must be heard.”
And she ensured that they were.

Today, we celebrate Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti — a local hero whose voice still echoes through history and whose impact continues to inspire women and youth leaders across Africa and beyond.
