One week ago I was on a flight to Frankfurt to head to my luxury river cruise, I’m now performing on for 10 weeks on the beautiful down the Danube River🎙️🎹🛳️ guess Vienna is definitely waiting for me! It’s a lifesaver in so many ways. The week before that I worked on SXSW London from behind the scenes, which was a 6-day intense role but thrilling all the same. Two weeks prior to that I packed up the life I built in Dubai since 2011 and literally put me into storage. The choice was sit and wait, or get up and go utilising every skillset I have; singer-songwriter, singer-pianist, event manager, artist manager, bossy boots and coffee-lady! It has been heartbreaking, challenging, scary and awful pushing through to a place I can breathe for a moment after not having an income flow for three and a half months. My family and friends have been my foundation and pulled me through, especially mentally - thank you for your support, encouragement, unending belief and love. I have lived in hotels a lot of my career, so to finally set up a home with my grown self, was a biggie to say goodbye to for a bit. But I refuse to let some clowns in politics dictate my future in this world. Anyone feeling defeated, just know you can rise above any obstacle if you just try. I worked day and night until I found my feet and the agencies who know and trust me, took care of it. I am so grateful, thank you. Still a long way to go, and everyday is a new horizon to make a difference with music. To and PRS for Music you suck for taking two-thirds of my royalties for works I created and placed with radio, especially building with the commercial ones you’re calling community so you can “justify” not paying me. You do NOT deserve to manage artists’ catalogues. I may have “lost” the case fighting to be paid, but I will not stop fighting you to make this right, for me and every other artist. That’s all. To those of us who are real, authentic and doing the work, may there be a miracle we have our day to stand in the sun and shine the way we’re supposed to. Keep playing my music and sharing it, because good always overcomes. I love you with alll my heart, Goldilocks # # #
