Last month, Blue Week 2016 (14-22 May) in Grenada, brought together ocean related investment and sustainable initiatives that is expected to promote economic benefits for Small Island Developing States (SIDS) from the sustainable use of marine resources, ocean resources, and tourism. This ‘Blue Growth’ agenda is part of the Blue Guardians initiative being orchestrated by the leadership of 6 Island Nations and supported by SIDS DOCK, the Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI) and a network of supporting members and partners.

GPC led the development of a half day track on the application of technology to SIDS issues including the CCI/Blue Guardians “Spatial Technologies for Applied Resilience Systems (STARS)”, which was well received by an audience of over 100 delegates from the Caribbean and other oceans regions.
