To accomplish their primary goal of providing nail care treatments, Nail Technicians perform many tasks.

Duties and responsibilities.

Provide Manicures and Pedicures

To provide individualized nail services and treatments to clients, including manicures and pedicures.

To remove previously applied nail polish, shape and smooth the ends of nails, clean the nails, soften, push back and trim nail cuticles, and apply polish onto nails.

To apply artificial nails or paint designs onto nails.

Maintain Sanitary Workstation

Responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.

To uphold strict standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and established policies and procedures.

Build Customer Relationships

Work to ensure their guests are satisfied, so that they will become repeat customers.

To work to building a relationship with customers and guide them toward other services or products they offer.

Perform routine tasks under the supervision of registered nurses.
- Take patient's temperate, pulse, and respiration rate.
- Take blood pressure and determine if range is abnormal.
- Answer calls for help and determine if additional help is needed.
- Make beds and perform light housekeeping duties in patient's room.
- Set up equipment.
- Store and move supplies.
- Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions.
- Observe fluid intake and output.
- Report abnormal changes or patterns to nursing staff.
- Develop nurturing relationships with patient.
- Follow proper procedures for lifting and moving patients.
- Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records
- Protects organization's value by keeping patient information confidential.
- Enhances nursing department reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Bachelors in Nursing
