Our children are digital natives, exploring a borderless world from our homes. But are we equipping them for its hidden pitfalls-cyberbullying, exploitation, misinformation?
The internet is their library, playground, and social square. Yet, we often hand them the keys without a map. This is not just about parental controls; it's about empowering a generation with digital citizenship, critical thinking, and resilience.
I believe our community-tech professionals, educators, parents, and policymakers-can pioneer solutions. How do we tailor online safety education for our context? Can we develop local, relatable content in our languages? What role should schools and community hubs play?
This is a call to action. Share your insights, experiences, and scalable ideas. Let's move beyond worry and build a practical, collaborative framework for a safer digital world.

Tech Has Evolved. Have Our Skills Kept Pace?
Its like migrating to a very cold weather, will you be able to survive in it without adequate and necessary coping up measures, that's a million dollar question.
We are in the era of quantum computing, Al agents, and seamless loT ecosystems. The level of technology transformation is exponential, reshaping reality itself.
Yet, the level of cyber literacy-the critical understanding of digital safety, data sovereignty, and ethical implications -often feels linear. We use breathtakingly complex tools with a startlingly basic understanding of their mechanics and risks.
We hand over biometrics for convenience, deploy Al without auditing its logic, and share our lives on platforms whose business models we don't comprehend. The gap is not just a vulnerability; it's a foundational crack.
True progress is not just about adopting the next tech. It's about cultivating the wisdom to use it safely, ethically, and sustainably. Are we building a future we understand, or just one we inhabit?
Question for my network: In your view, what's the single most critical cyber literacy skill we must prioritize now to safely navigate this transformed world?

Together We Can: How Zimbabwean Citizens Hold the Key to Road Safety and National Security
Road safety is not merely a transportation issue—it's a fundamental national security concern that threatens our social fabric, economic stability, and collective wellbeing. The security of any nation begins with the protection of its citizens in their daily lives, including on the roads they travel.
The crisis on Zimbabwe's roads is not merely a government problem or a law enforcement failure—it is a reflection of our societal values. Each time we choose to speed, overtake dangerously, or drive impaired, we contribute to the problem. Similarly, each time we exercise patience, respect traffic rules, and intervene to prevent others from making dangerous choices, we contribute to the solution.
The broken social contract on our roads can be repaired, but only through a collective commitment to re-establishing mutual respect . This requires a fundamental shift from a "me-first" mentality to a "we-first" approach that recognizes our interconnectedness and shared responsibility for public safety.
As we look toward the future, let us remember that national security begins with individual security—and there is nothing more fundamental than the right to travel safely in our communities. Let us commit to being part of the solution through our daily choices, our community engagement, and our advocacy for better policies and infrastructure.
Together, we can transform Zimbabwe's roads from corridors of fear into pathways of safety, connectivity, and national prosperity. The journey begins with each one of us—today.
This article is dedicated to the thousands of Zimbabweans who have lost their lives or loved ones in preventable road accidents. May their stories inspire us to build a safer future for all.
Special acknowledgment to organizations like Road Safe Zimbabwe Trust, Automobile Association of Zimbabwe, and iRAP who are working tirelessly to make our roads safer .
Call to Action:
1. Pledge to be a safer driver and road user
2. Educate your family, friends, and community about road safety
3. Report dangerous road conditions and reckless driving to authorities
4. Advocate for better road infrastructure and enforcement in your community
5. Support organizations working to make Zimbabwe's roads safer

🚀 Protect Your Business from Fraud! Essential Tips for Small-Scale Entrepreneurs in Zimbabwe
Running a small business in Zimbabwe comes with many challenges, and fraud is one of the biggest threats to your hard-earned success. Whether it’s dishonest employees, fake suppliers, or payment scams, fraud can cripple your business if you’re not careful.
Here are practical tips to help you safeguard your business:
1. Keep Detailed Records 📝
Maintain clear records of all transactions (sales, expenses, inventory).
Use digital tools like QuickBooks, Wave, or even Excel to track finances.
Regularly review bank statements and receipts to spot irregularities.
2. Separate Personal & Business Finances 💳
Open a dedicated business bank account to avoid mixing funds.
This makes it easier to track cash flow and detect fraud.
3. Verify Suppliers & Customers 🔍
Before dealing with new suppliers or clients, do background checks.
Ask for references, check online reviews, and avoid upfront payments for unverified deals.
4. Use Secure Payment Methods 💰
Avoid cash transactions where possible—use mobile money (Ecocash, OneMoney) or bank transfers for traceability.
Be wary of fake payment notifications—always confirm receipts before releasing goods/services.
5. Monitor Inventory & Stock 📦
Conduct regular stock takes to detect theft or mismanagement.
Implement a system where two people verify high-value transactions (dual control).
6. Limit Access to Cash & Sensitive Data 🔐
Only trusted employees should handle cash or financial records.
Use passwords/PINs for mobile money accounts and change them periodically.
7. Educate Yourself & Your Team 🎓
Train employees on fraud risks and how to spot red flags.
Encourage a culture of transparency and accountability.
8. Get Insured (If Possible) 🛡️
Consider business insurance to cover losses from fraud or theft.
9. Trust Your Instincts ❗
If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is! Always verify before committing.
💡 Final Thought: Fraud can happen to anyone, but with vigilance and smart practices, you can protect your business and keep growing!
