We were delighted to attend the 2-day Bulawayo Debate Schools Rumble. It was an absolute honour for The Girls Table to partner with them in this important initiative. ​Debate is incredibly important because it provides young people with a powerful platform to find their voices, think critically, and actively participate in civic discourse, skills that are foundational for building a more just, inclusive, and equitable society.

​It was incredibly encouraging to see how this initiative has grown across various schools, with institutions from all over the country participating, including our neighbours from Botswana. ​As an organization dedicated to creating space for vital conversations, building media literacy, and amplifying youth voices, seeing this level of passion and intellectual brilliance gives us so much hope for the future.

Congratulations to all the brilliant participants, award winners, and organizers who made this event such a massive success.

A new week means new opportunities to amplify girls' voices, challenge inequalities, and build stronger, more inclusive communities. As we step into this week, let's continue creating spaces where girls and young women can lead, thrive, and shape the future they deserve.

This Africa Day, we join the continent in commemorating Africa Day and advancing the theme: “Assuring Sustainable Water Availability and Safe Sanitation Systems to Achieve the Goals of Agenda 2063.”

Access to clean water and safe sanitation is not just a basic need; it is a matter of dignity, health, equality, and justice for women and girls across Africa. As we celebrate the strength and resilience of our continent, we also reaffirm our commitment to amplifying the voices of young women and communities in building a sustainable, inclusive, and empowered Africa for generations to come.
