GCE TO CONTINUE WITH THE NEW CURRICULUM

Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) Executive Director, Dr. Michael Chilala has explained that the rolling out of the 2023 New School Curriculum will have no effect on the General Certificate of Education (GCE) examinations

Speaking on the Edu Talkzone, Dr. Chilala clarifies that the GCE will continue even with the new school curriculum because people will still want to better their results even with the new developments.

He says ECZ will in due course guide in terms of the rules as to how someone will qualify to sit for GCE examinations.

He says the nation will be informed of the new rules that will apply when writing the GCE examinations.

Dr. Chilala explains that this is because the 2023 New Curriculum has abolished the Grade 9 examinations meaning that the current rules for writing GCE examinations will have to be uplifted and clarified to avoid people abusing the qualifications
