Murder suspect ends own life to escape justice

A 51-YEAR-OLD man wanted by Police in connection with the death of his female acquaintance in Kalumbila has allegedly ended his life in Lusaka’s Kaunda Square Stage 1.

Police spokesman Godfrey Chilabi said Andrew Sinyenga had fled Kalumbila after the death of 43-year-old Nsoche Zulu and travelled to Lusaka.

Police said Sinyenga allegedly ingested a suspected toxic substance at his residence around 20:50 hours, yesterday September 9, 2026, before his 77-year-old mother reported the matter.

Police officers rushed him to Kaunda Square Stage 1 Clinic after noticing signs that he had ingested a suspected toxic substance, but he later died.

This followed the discovery of Zulu’s body at her residence in Kalumbila Housing on September 7, with Police reporting that she had deep cuts on her back, facial injuries and burn marks.

Police say preliminary investigations indicated that Sinyenga had travelled from Lusaka to visit Zulu and was last seen with her on September 6, before she was found dead the following day.

Police recovered a bottle of insecticide, an energy drink, a laptop and two mobile phones from Sinyenga’s residence.

His body has been deposited at the University Teaching Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem, while investigations into both deaths continue.

PRAYER YATU, Heavenly Father, we thank You for the precious gift of life that You have graciously given to us and our loved ones. We do not take this day for granted. Thank You for Your mercy, grace, and for carrying us this far.

Father, we ask for traveling mercies upon everyone on the road today. Watch over those driving within town and those travelling long distances outside town.

Lord guide their hands, sharpen their judgment, and keep them from accidents, reckless drivers, mechanical failures, and every danger along the way. May everyone leave safely and return safely.

Lord, protect us and our families. Shield us from the sight of the evil one and from every scheme designed against us. Cover us under Your mighty protection and let no evil come near our dwelling.

Father, increase the opportunities before us. Open doors that no person can shut. Make ways where there seem to be no way, and lead us into opportunities that will transform our lives.

Divinely connect us to destiny helpers—people You have appointed to encourage us, lift us, guide us, and open doors according to Your purpose. May we also become a blessing to others along the way.

We place this day, our lives, our families, our journeys, and our future completely in Your hands.

In the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ we pray, AMEN!
