Day 1 of BeRelevant Afrika – Discovery Leadership

Today marked an impactful beginning of the BeRelevant Afrika session presented by Mwila Bwanga, focused on the theme of Discovery Leadership.

The session delivered powerful insights on what true leadership really means beyond titles and positions. Participants were challenged to think differently about influence, purpose, responsibility, and personal growth as emerging leaders in today’s world.

One of the key takeaways from the session was that leadership begins with self-discovery — understanding who you are, what you stand for, and how you can positively impact others.

The discussion was engaging, thought-provoking, and inspiring, especially for young people seeking to grow into effective and intentional leaders.

The journey continues on 11th May, 2026, as the session moves deeper into the principles and realities of leadership development.

I had a privilege moment to be part of this amazing day yesterday 10th April, 2026

The University Of Lusaka was deeply honoured to welcome Mr. Hakainde Hichilema , President of the Republic of Zambia, to the Silverest Campus for a landmark occasion in the life of the institution.

A major highlight of the day was the official opening of the Silverest Campus and the Teaching Hospital by the President, marking a significant milestone for the University of Lusaka.

The occasion was further crowned by the conferment of an Honorary Doctorate in Investment and Enterprise Development upon President Hakainde Hichilema, in recognition of his distinguished leadership and contribution to Zambia’s economic transformation, enterprise growth, and sustainable development.

Dixon Mutambo, popularly known as THE GOVERNOR, is a dynamic and influential young leader, best known for his tenure as the former Student Union President at the University of Zambia, the country’s highest learning institution.

Driven by a deep passion for impactful leadership Dixon championed the interests and welfare of students, representing a new generation of bold, visionary, and purpose-driven young leaders in Zambia.

He is the Founder of the Governor Hope Foundation, a humanitarian organization dedicated to transforming communities and giving back across Zambia. He also serves as a Protocol Director at BeRelevant Afrika, where he continues to excel in leadership, organization, and public communication.

Dixon is a Brand ambassador, Legal Advisor for ZANASU and a recognized leader and influencer, inspiring many young people to rise and lead with purpose.

He was speaking on Leadership, sharing practical insights on how young people can lead with influence, purpose and impact in today’s world.
