UN Envoy Completes Verification Visit to Zambia Field Hospital

Ms Victoria Pozzi, a United Nations official has concluded her two-day verification visit to Zambia’s United Nations (UN) Level II Field Hospital, a facility earmarked for rapid deployment in peacekeeping missions.

Ms Pozzi ended the visit yesterday, Friday, 29 May,2026 with a courtesy call on Ministry of Defence Permanent Secretary, Mr Maambo Haamaundu in Lusaka.

Ms Pozzi said she was satisfied with the equipment on the ground and thanked Officers for ensuring her inspection was smooth and effective.

And Mr Haamaundu assured the UN envoy that Zambia remains committed to working with the UN to contribute to world peace by enhancing its capacity to deploy troops and equipment to mission areas.

“Zambia takes pride in investing in peace by making available the necessary equipment and manpower to support deployments in mission areas,” Mr Haamaundu said.

The Level II Field Hospital is designated for rapid deployment to support UN peacekeeping operations once given a go ahead by the UN.

ALAZ Patron Salutes Unity, Pledges More Support at Kala Camp

The Army Ladies Association of Zambia (ALAZ) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting affiliate clubs across the country.

During a visit to Kala Camp, ALAZ Patron, Mrs Gina Zyeele commended the members of the Club for their hard work and unity.

Mrs Zyeele pledged the Association’s continued support towards outreach programmes that improve welfare and strengthen collaboration among military families.

“We have heard how hard working and united you are as it should be. Continue supporting the activities of the club," Mrs Zyeele said.

Meanwhile, Vice Patron Mrs Nancy Sinyinza urged the members of the club to support the Patron's vision.

"Let's ensure we support the Patron's vision for the betterment of the Association,” Mrs Sinyinza said.

Earlier Mrs Zyeele and the entourage paid a courtesy call on Lieutenant Colonel Kenneth Ngulube.
