We may feel a little uncertain stepping into this journey, but we are moving forward and we believe we won’t walk it alone.
Our Livelihoods Improvement Program is steadily taking shape, with young people gaining skills in fashion and design, catering and food production, digital literacy, and entrepreneurship and business development, with carpentry coming soon.
This is more than a program. It’s a pathway out of poverty.
Walk with us as we work to transform lives and empower communities. If you believe in the power of community-led change, this is your moment to be part of something meaningful. Remember, no contribution is too small, $2, $5, or any amount can help us reach and uplift more young people.

IMPACT SHARING | 3 OF 5
Working with Communities to Protect Every Child.
From the very beginning, we understood one thing clearly, real change does not happen in isolation. It happens when communities themselves are involved.
After bringing children back to school, we knew we had to go a step further. Many of the challenges affecting children, especially girls were deeply rooted in community beliefs, practices, and systems. So we turned our focus to the people who shape those spaces every day.
We began working closely with faith leaders, teachers, traditional leaders, government institutions such as One Stop Centre and community members, the voices that communities listen to. Through a series of capacity-building sessions held at different times and places, we opened honest conversations around child protection, the dangers of child marriage, and the responsibility leaders carry in safeguarding children.
With the support of Child Marriage Free World, we strengthened this work even further. Together, we trained leaders, engaged communities, and amplified the voices of young people. Some of the survivors we support even had the opportunity to represent their stories on a global stage, participating in discussions linked to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 80), joining the global movement to end child marriage.
We also contributed to a high-level side event convened by Just Rights for Children, in collaboration with the governments of Kenya and Sierra Leone, and supported by the World Jurist Association and Jurists for Children. These moments reminded us that even grassroots voices can influence global conversations.
Back home, the impact was visible.
The same leaders we engaged became champions of change, advocating for girls’ education, speaking against child marriage, and protecting children within their communities and places of worship.
And for the girls who had already been affected, we refused to let their stories end there.
Phoenix Foundation actively supported survivors of child marriage to return to school. We worked closely with families, provided psychosocial support, supplied learning materials, and coordinated with schools to ensure a smooth reintegration.
This is what community transformation looks like.
When leaders speak up.
When communities shift.
When a girl gets a second chance.
And because of your support, these stories continue to grow.

Phoenix Foundation — Changing Lives Through Education
A few years ago, in the rural communities of Isoka District, going to school was not a guarantee, it was a struggle.
Children walked long distances, many simply stayed home, and others dropped out completely. Poverty, lack of infrastructure, and limited access to schools meant that too many young lives were left behind. For some, this led to early marriages, substance abuse, and a future cut short before it even began.
We could not look away.
Phoenix Foundation, together with community leaders, stepped in with one clear mission, to bring education closer to the children. What started as an idea turned into action. We mobilized resources and worked hand in hand with the community to construct a school, a safe, accessible space where children could finally learn, grow, and dream again.
And the change was immediate.
Children who had never stepped into a classroom. These are children from the most vulnerable backgrounds: from child-headed families, aged households, and even survivors of early marriages. Today, they are reading, writing, and rebuilding their futures.
We didn’t stop at access.
We supported learners with books, and essential learning materials restoring dignity, confidence, and the joy of being in school. Teachers were also equipped with teaching aids to improve the quality of learning in the classroom.
We provided desks and furniture so that children no longer had to learn sitting on the floor.
To us this is what impact looks like not just numbers, but lives changed.
None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of individuals and partners who believed in us, including the Global Youth Mobilization Global Fund for Children The Pollination Project Foundation, Cultivate and amazing individuals like Liz, Audrey, Kathryn, Alan, Elaine, alongside our dedicated community members and traditional leaders.
Because of you, hope was restored.
Because of you, children are back in school.
Because of you, the future is being rewritten.
And this is only the beginning.
Stay with us as we continue sharing our journey of impact over the next days. 💛

CELEBRATING 5 YEARS OF IMPACT — PHOENIX FOUNDATION
Five years ago, Phoenix Foundation was not an organization, it was simply a dream.
A dream born out of personal experiences. A deep belief that education can change lives. A quiet conviction that if given the right support, every young person can rise.
Today, we pause to celebrate how far that dream has come.
After a rigorous physical inspection of our operations by the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services (Department of NGO Registration), we are proud to share that Phoenix Foundation has successfully renewed its certificate for the next five years.
This milestone is more than just compliance, it is a reflection of trust, accountability, and consistency. It follows a thorough review of our systems, including timely submission of annual returns, independently audited financial records, and the presence of an independent Board of Directors.
Because of this trust, Phoenix Foundation has also been entrusted twice to serve as a fiscal sponsor for eight organizations across Zambia, forming a consortium and effectively receiving and managing grants on their behalf. This is a responsibility we carry with great humility.
What started as a single program focused on education has now grown into a broader mission. Today, our work spans Education, Health and Wellness, and Livelihood Improvement reaching deeper into communities and responding to real needs.
But beyond the programs and milestones, what truly defines these five years are the people, the young lives impacted, the mentors who have walked alongside them, and the individuals and partners who believed in us even before we had structure or recognition.
We are grateful for the trust we have earned, and we remain committed to building an organization that is transparent, accountable, and deeply rooted in community impact.
If you believe in investing in the future of children and young people, we invite you to walk this journey with us.
Over the next five days, we will be sharing highlights of our work and impact over the past five years.
This is not just our story, it is a shared journey of hope, growth, and possibility.
