Security Insight – Mukuyu Mall Robbery (Video 2)
This second footage shows the security guard being captured and taken toward the getaway vehicle.
While the incident is unfortunate, it highlights the importance of CCTV surveillance. Because cameras were in place, we can observe the perpetrators’ movements, identify the vehicle involved, and preserve critical evidence.
However, CCTV alone is not enough. Effective security requires:
✔ Adequate lighting
✔ Proper camera placement
✔ Active monitoring and response
✔ Layered security measures
Technology must work together with planning and personnel.
