Great workplace wellness event today with great brands that value employee wellness and fitness.
The Copper belt Corporate was held today at the immaculate Garden Park Stadium, home of Kitwe United. The theme this year was "Work hard. Play hard. Achieve" to underscore, the often overlooked truism, that healthy staff lead to a higher productivity. The event was attended by mining giants Red Path Mining, Reliant, Quattro with the support of other entities.

Red Path claimed the trophy after wining beating Reliant and Quattro in competitive and lively matches.

Part of the proceeds of the event will go towards purchasing of education materials for Race Course Community School.

The event was organised by Copperbelt Guardian Media Limited with the support of the participating team.

Speaking at the prize presentation, Copperbelt Guardian Chairperson, K***a Chali urged companies to continue investing in employee wellness event and programmes that boost the morale of staff.

"The greatest resources in a company is never the most expensive equipment or property but the human capital in the organisation", he urged.

Chali also highly praised the participating companies for their apparent commitment to enhancing employee contentment and wellness.

Representatives of the companies commended the initiative and hoped the event would regularly.

Two Yalelo staff feared dead on Lake Kariba.

Two Yalelo senior staff are feared dead on Lake Kariba. The two were yesterday reported to have gone missing while on the lake. Search and rescue efforts led by the Zambia Police have continued and efforts to get the Zambia Army Marine Commandos are underway.

A statement from the company has indicated that the company is doing its best to search for the two employees. However, a sombre mood has now enveloped the company as minutes, hours and days slip away and the prospects for finding the employees alive diminish.
