This is my first harvest from my trial plot. A plot that I planted for learning purposes and it is showing that this crop can be done. So now I have to move in and put all the data that I collected to practice on a bigger plot. Some of the biggest lesson I learned about these green papers is they do not likefull direct sunlight, and make sure you plant them in fertile soil, amend the soil with manure before planting. And thirdly harvest early to incourage more flowering.
Fingers crossed.

Ka drip irrigation instalation done by fwebene. What initially started as basin irrigation beds have been transformed to drip irrigated beds.
With just ka small capital injection and labor we have saved 2 hours a day that was being spent running back and forth to shift the main water line from one basin to the next. We get to use that time to do other important stuff and enjoy life. All that we have to do now is turn the valves and the magic happens we are making it rain off season.

Don't stress about breakfast; just get sweet potato vines (imishimba), put them in huge heaps starting December, and leave them be. These don't even need to be weeded, fertilized, or sprayed. 'Let it rain' (yes, just like in the song) on them with the good rains we receive in Zambia. Once it's March, just grab your hoe one early morning and harvest. With a ready fire, you can either cook them or fry them as potato chips. With these roots, you won't need to sweeten your tea; just add black tea magic and enjoy. Caution: do not take without tea or water, or you'll experience being strangled from inside.
