Could TMS be used to treat Eating Disorders?

Researchers are running a feasibility trial of intermittent theta burst stimulation, a faster form of TMS, in young people aged 13–30 with persistent anorexia nervosa. The study will compare 20 sessions of real or sham stimulation added to usual care, and its main goal is to see whether people stay in the study through the 4-month follow-up. (Hemmings et al., 2024; DOI:10.1002/erv.3073)
