In 2009, Newlyn Group developed South Africa’s first fully compliant bulk sulphur handling facility in Richards Bay.

Located just 3km from the port, the site was strategically positioned to support efficient movement of bulk product.

With direct access to the Transnet rail network and infrastructure designed for full block trains, the facility allows for reliable flow from storage to distribution.

The development was purpose built for sulphur, with reinforced concrete floors and walls designed to handle corrosive materials.

The warehouses offer wide, column free space, making large scale storage and operations more practical and efficient.

Over 15 years later, the facility remains fully occupied. It continues to support the bulk storage sector with a solution that is well located, compliant and built to perform.

This project remains a clear example of how Newlyn Group approaches development, with a focus on practical design, strong logistics positioning, and long-term value.
