🔥 Stay warm this winter – safely! ❄️
Hot water bottles are a great way to keep warm, but using them incorrectly can lead to serious burns. Keep these safety tips in mind:
✅ Check your hot water bottle for cracks, leaks, brittleness, or a worn stopper before every use.
✅ Fill it with hot, not boiling water. Let boiled water cool for 10–15 minutes before filling.
✅ Squeeze out excess air before sealing and make sure the cap is securely fastened.
✅ Never place a hot water bottle directly on your skin – always use a cover or wrap it in a towel.
✅ Check the expiry date, and replace your hot water bottle every year (or sooner if it shows signs of wear), as the rubber weakens over time and can increase the risk of leaks and burns.
🚨 If you suffer a burn: Cool the area under cool running water for 20–30 minutes and seek medical attention as soon as possible.
