It was around 10:30 at night. I was coming back from my friend's place after watching football. There was load shedding, so the streets were very dark. I decided to use a shortcut because I was tired.

As I was walking, I heard someone behind me calling my name.
"Chris..."
I turned around, but there was nobody there. I thought maybe someone was playing with me, so I carried on walking.
A few seconds later I heard my name again.
"Chris... wait..."
This time the voice sounded much closer.
I turned around again. The street was empty. No people. No cars. Even the dogs were quiet.
I started walking faster because I was getting scared.

Then I heard footsteps behind me.
Whoever it was sounded like they were running, but when I looked back, there was nobody. The footsteps stopped every time I looked behind me. The moment I faced forward, they started again.

My heart was beating so fast. When I reached the old taxi rank, I saw a woman standing under a street light. She was wearing a long white dress. Her face was facing the ground, and she was not moving. I thought she needed help. As I got closer, she slowly lifted her head. I will never forget what I saw. Her eyes were completely black.
She smiled at me without saying a word. Then she pointed behind me. I quickly turned around. There was nobody. When I looked back at the woman, she had disappeared, She was gone. There was nowhere she could have run to. The road was open, and I would have seen her.
I ran home without looking back.

The next morning I told one of the old men in the neighbourhood what happened. He looked at me and said, "You are not the first person to see that woman. Many people have seen her at that same spot. Some even got sick after seeing her. That woman was hit by a car and died on that very spot 20 years ago!"

Since that night, I never use that shortcut again.

Going through a baddie's phone is crazy. She has the station commander's number, ,K9 Unit numbers , CID numbers, homicide numbers, forensics numbers. She basically has half of SAPS saved in her phone.

If you want to know why, one day tell her you don't have money after spending the night with her.

That day you'll realise SAPS doesn't lack resources. They were just keeping those resources for baddies.

You'll see 12 fully loaded vans pulling up to fetch you.

You try to explain: "But officer, I bought her alcohol and we agreed on everything. She even said, 'Don't give me money, I only want alcohol.' Now she's demanding R5k."

Nobody wants to hear your story.

They just say: "Hayi, let's go, my broer. You'll explain everything at the station."

That's when you realise SAPS can work very fast when a baddie opens a case. 😂💀😭
