๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ๐ŸŽ“

๐ŸŒ South African education is helping shape global conversations.

FEDSAS CEO, Dr Jaco Deacon, will this week represent South Africa as a speaker during an international webinar hosted by the European Federation of Education Employers (EFEE) in collaboration with UNESCO.

The webinar, Global Education in Action: Connecting Partners for the Future of Teaching and Learning, brings together education leaders from around the world to discuss key challenges and opportunities facing education.

Dr Deacon will on Thursday share South African policy priorities and practical insights on how international collaboration can help strengthen education systems across borders.

FEDSAS is proud to contribute to global education discussions and ensure that the voice of South African schools is heard on the international stage.

The warning signs from KwaZulu-Natalโ€™s education system are becoming impossible to ignore.

A reported R28 billion funding shortfall, combined with escalating financial mismanagement and Treasury intervention, has raised serious concerns that the provinceโ€™s education system could face severe instability within the next five years.

With Provincial Treasury now stepping in to oversee financial controls, the crisis is no longer just about budgets. It is about governance, accountability, and the long-term sustainability of basic education delivery in one of South Africaโ€™s largest school systems.

When departments reach the point where external intervention is required to keep schools funded, what message does that send to learners, educators, and parents about the state of public education?
