✍🏽𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐎𝐒, 𝐋𝐀 𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐀: Some dances are carefully planned, while they can suddenly emerge from a “conversation” with the elements 🌬️🔥🌊🍃

In 2025, I had the honour of participating in Laura Phoenix Dance Company ‘s beautiful LUMINIS Gala Online ⭐️
For this piece, I found myself standing on the shores of Glencairn Beach in Cape Town 📍 , accompanied by really wild wind gusts💨 of near 80km/h‼️
This would also influence in the vast ocean🌊, and waves that seemed determined to become part of the dance themselves❣️

Using The Siren Project® Fan Dialect siren project created by my mentor , blended with improvisation and my own explorations with the fan 🪭 I basically let the WIND to guide me.

🪷The wind refused perfection, the sea demanded presence, and nature became my duet partner. 🪷

What began as a performance transformed into a reminder that beauty is often found not in control, but in surrender❤️‍🔥

I believe that dance, like life, is a meeting place between what we learn and what we discover within ourselves. We honour our teachers, our lineages, and our inspirations, yet we are also invited to create something uniquely our own.

☀️ On that day, with the ocean behind me and the powerful wind all around me, I felt deeply connected to that truth.

🙏🏼 My heartfelt gratitude to for her vision, generosity, and for creating spaces where artists from around the world can share their light, stories, and movement.

May this piece remind us that even amidst the strongest winds, we can always choose to dance❤️‍🔥 🩰
