Progress doesn't happen by doing things the way they've always been done.

While building Interstate 70 near the Utah–Colorado border, W.W. Clyde & Co. crews faced a challenge that had frustrated road builders for years: expansive shale that absorbed water and threatened the long-term performance of the roadway.

Rather than accept the problem, our teams developed a better solution. By applying an innovative asphalt membrane to protect the shale from moisture, they improved the stability of the roadway and reduced the need for additional materials.

The project moved nearly 3 million cubic yards of earth in just 200 working days, but the real achievement was something deeper: a willingness to question, adapt, and improve.
