In 1973, Roddy Schoenfeldt traded Dallas for the remote community of Lajitas, Texas, where he built a life along the Rio Grande. Between farming alfalfa, raising horses, running the local general store, and working for Big D Oil, he embraced the rugged independence of the Big Bend.
