Inspirational Monday is back, and this week's artist is Deepa Panchamina. Deepa is a British artist based in Finland creating sculptures, installations and wearable art.
Through a combination of folding, pleating, layering and stitching she creates geometric formations. Each piece maintains a sense of structure yet how the light illuminates each artwork and depending on how the work is hung allows the piece to change so the viewers experience is rarely the same twice. .
As always you can read Deepa’s interview on the Textile Curator website - link in bio.
🌟 Deepa isn't on social media so the IG algorithm probably won't be very kind to this post. Therefore if you could like or comment that would be greatly appreciated. My aim here is to show incredible artists using textiles within their practice and I don't like to exclude anyone just because they don't use IG. Many thanks, Helen

Magda Sayeg is an American textile artist and the founder of the yarn bombing / guerrilla knitting movement.
While colourful and engaging, her art explores deeper issues including challenging the hierarchies that have long separated craft from fine art and who gets to claim space within contemporary art..
Textile Art Redefined is exhibiting until May 10th. Free entry with a suggested donation of £3.
