What looks like play is actually purposeful learning. 🌿☀️
Today our little learners balanced, watered our garden, explored sensory water play, and strengthened the muscles they’ll one day use for writing. Every experience is thoughtfully planned to support confidence, coordination, independence, and joyful discovery.
At Reign & Root Academy, we believe childhood deserves to be unhurried, hands-on, and deeply meaningful. Our days are rooted in curiosity, relationships, and experiences that honor how young children learn best.
Thank you for following along as our school continues to grow. Whether you’re a parent, educator, or fellow advocate for children, we hope these little moments inspire big conversations about what early childhood education can be.
Because when we nurture the roots, the future flourishes.

🐸💚 Rain or shine, childhood is meant to be explored.
There’s something magical about little boots, frog raincoats, muddy rocks, and curious minds. 🌿✨ At Dr. D 🍎✏️Reign & Root Academy , we believe learning doesn’t stop because of a few raindrops—it begins there.
As we prepare for fall, we have ONE final opening available beginning at the end of August, and we’re looking for one more family to join our little community.
🍃 Nature-based play
🎨 Hands-on learning
🧩 Neuro-affirming and child-led
🤎 Small group, family atmosphere
🌎 Diverse, inclusive, and rooted in wonder
Here, children are free to splash, climb, imagine, create, and grow at their own pace. We slow down, get messy, ask questions, and celebrate childhood the way it was meant to be.
Because the best classrooms aren’t always inside four walls.
If you’ve been searching for something that feels more like an extension of home than a daycare… something intentional, nurturing, and joy-filled… this might be your sign. 💚
✨ Just ONE spot remains for Fall 2026.
Once it’s filled, enrollment will close.

The Art of Childhood
✨ Childhood isn’t something to rush.
At Dr. D 🍎✏️Reign & Root Academy , we believe in honoring the art of childhood—creating space for wonder, movement, creativity, and meaningful relationships.
Today, our young learners explored light and color through prism blocks, engaged in sensory-rich play outdoors, and brought literacy to life with Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. We painted, investigated, asked questions, and learned through doing.
🌱 Nature-based learning
📚 Full curriculum
🌍 African-centered perspectives
🤎 Faith-based principles
🖐🏾 Hands-on experiences
✨ Children are met where they are
Because childhood was never meant to be hurried.

Little hands, big responsibility! One of our learners gave our large garden bed some love today. Now we wait (and watch 👀) for those first signs of growth. There’s something special about teaching patience, care, and wonder—one watering can at a time. 🌿

🌿 ONE FALL 2026 SPOT REMAINS 🌿
People often ask me why I created Reign & Root Academy.
The answer isn’t found in a business plan.
It’s found in four little boys who changed my life.
As a mom of four, neurodivergent children, I’ve spent years sitting in meetings, advocating, researching, asking questions, celebrating victories, and navigating challenges that many families know all too well.
What I learned along the way is simple:
Traditional school works beautifully for many children.
But it doesn’t work for every child.
Some children need more movement.
Some need more creativity.
Some need more flexibility.
Some need more understanding.
Some need adults who see their strengths before their struggles.
And some families are simply looking for a place where their child doesn’t have to fit into a box.
That’s why Reign & Root exists.
Not because I thought the world needed another school.
But because I knew there were families searching for something different—the kind of environment where relationships matter, where children are known deeply, where learning is personalized, and where character, curiosity, faith, and growth are nurtured right alongside academics.
Every part of this program was built from lived experience as both an educator and a mom.
The sensory-friendly spaces.
The flexible learning approach.
The emphasis on strengths.
The focus on emotional well-being.
The commitment to seeing the whole child.
This isn’t just what I do.
It’s what I’ve lived.
This morning, I had the privilege of meeting another wonderful family during a tour. Watching parents light up as they realize there really are educational options that honor who their child is never gets old.
And with that tour, we now have just ONE remaining Fall 2026 enrollment spot.
No pressure. No urgency tactics.
Just gratitude.
Gratitude that families trust us with what matters most.
And gratitude that God continues to bring the right families at the right time.

🌿 ONE FALL 2026 SPOT REMAINS 🌿
This morning, we had a tour with an AMAZING family.
Watching families walk through our space, ask thoughtful questions, connect with our philosophy, and truly understand what we’re building at Reign & Root Academy is always such a gift.
With that tour, we are officially down to ONE remaining Fall 2026 enrollment spot.
And truthfully? I’m not looking for just any family. I’m looking for the right family.
Reign & Root Academy is a licensed, EEC-regulated neuroinclusive play school in Roslindale serving children ages 18 months through 4 years old.
We are intentionally small because children deserve to be known—not managed.
At Reign & Root, your child will:
✦ Learn through nature, outdoor exploration, sensory experiences, gardening, and meaningful play every single day
✦ Spend up to 3 hours outdoors daily (and often more!)
✦ See themselves reflected in the curriculum through African-centered learning, Black history, diverse literature, and culturally affirming experiences
✦ Build early literacy, math, social-emotional, executive functioning, and school readiness skills through developmentally appropriate practices—not worksheets and pressure
✦ Be supported by a program designed with neurodiversity in mind, where differences are understood, respected, and celebrated
✦ Be loved, guided, and taught through connection—not shame, punishment, or fear-based discipline
Our learners help care for four raised garden beds, a 7-foot garden bed, and multiple vertical planters, developing a relationship with nature and learning environmental stewardship through hands-on experiences.
Led by Dr. Danielle Eddins, a doctorate-level educator, autism specialist, researcher, advocate, and founder, Reign & Root offers families something rare: over 13 years of professional experience in early childhood and special education, along with a lifetime of working with and mentoring young children since the age of 14.
We follow the Boston Public Schools calendar and offer:
🌱 Full-Time Enrollment
🌱 Part-Time Enrollment
🌱 Half-Day Options
Families are often surprised by how affordable Reign & Root is compared to larger programs when they consider the individualized attention, specialized expertise, small-group environment, enrichment experiences, and intentionally designed curriculum their children receive.
Because here’s the truth:
We are not a traditional daycare.
Reign & Root was built using a microschool model—combining the quality and intentionality of a private school with the warmth, flexibility, and relationship-centered values many families seek from homeschooling.
Every day includes rotating enrichments, outdoor learning, project-based experiences, cultural exploration, and opportunities for children to learn at their own pace while being deeply known and deeply loved.
And we’re just getting started. 🌱
(Stay tuned for future announcements about our nonprofit independent school expansion.)
If you’ve been searching for a place where your child can be rooted in who they are while growing into who they’re becoming, this may be your sign.

🏴☠️🌊 Treasure Island Adventures Await!
Sometimes the best learning materials aren’t found in a catalog—they’re made with a pool noodle, a few Q-tips, a printer, and a little creativity! 😊
For our Treasure Island theme, I created floating island markers for our water table using pool noodles, Q-tips, and flags representing real islands from around the world.
As our explorers sail the seas tomorrow, they’ll discover islands such as Samoa, the Solomon Islands, Madagascar, Mauritius, Seychelles, Comoros, Réunion, and São Tomé & Príncipe.
While they’re playing, they’ll also be:
⚓ Building vocabulary
🌍 Exploring geography and world cultures
💧 Strengthening fine motor skills
🧠 Developing problem-solving skills
🫱🏽🫲🏿 Practicing social interaction and cooperative play
🏴☠️ Using their imaginations through dramatic play
At Reign & Root Academy, we believe children learn best when they can touch, explore, create, question, and wonder. What may look like “just play” is actually rich, meaningful learning taking place through hands-on experiences.
Tomorrow, our little pirates set sail! 🌊🦜🗺️
☀️ Good Morning & Happy Monday, Reign & Root Families!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and is feeling refreshed for a brand-new week.
As we begin June, we're setting sail on our new monthly theme:
🏝️ Treasure Island! Throughout the month, our learners will explore islands, maps, discovery, culture, nature, and the treasures that make each of us unique.
💎 Character Trait of the Month: Determination
This week's African proverb reminds us:
"Little by little, a little becomes a lot"
Success doesn't happen all at once. Whether you're learning a new skill, growing a business, strengthening your family, or helping a child reach a goal, every small step matters.
My encouragement for you today: Keep showing up. Keep planting seeds. Keep moving forward. Growth is happening, even when you can't see it yet.
Now tell me...
☕ Are you excited it's Monday?
