Meet 2nd Lieutenant Genesis White Military United States Army

2nd Lieutenant Genesis Amena White was born on February 3, 2002, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and grew up in Fort Washington, Maryland. She is graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business management in the fall of 2024 at Morgan State University where she has distinguished herself academically and as a leader within the Bear Battalion. 2nd Lieutenant White joined the ROTC program in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, a challenging time for many. Despite the challenges, she committed herself to the rigorous physical demands.

Though having no prior service experience 2nd Lieutenant White overcame by preparing herself diligently for fitness tests and quickly adapted to Army lifestyle. Overcoming these early challenges, by her junior year, she earned a spot on battalion staff in the role of Battalion Executive Officer.

Throughout her journey, 2nd Lieutenant White has received encouragement from her family, battle buddies, and cadre in battalion. She aims to be a role model for her younger brothers, Xavion and Micah, by demonstrating resilience and dedication to breaking barriers and achieving black excellence. For 2nd Lieutenant White, success is defined not by one’s starting point but by the strength and character shown in reaching the finish line. 2nd Lieutenant White will serve in the reserve component of the Army. 2nd Lieutenant White encourages future generations of young cadets and leaders and is proud to serve.
