Canyonlands
Our favourite hike in Canyonlands National Park in Utah 🥾😍 (save for later!) The hike to the Druid Arch takes a little extra effort, but it is SO worth it when you get to the end🙌 We did this for sunset and had the whole place to ourselves! This trail offers one of the most spectacular views in a section of Canyonlands known as “The Needles”. It is accessed through a separate entrance than most other lookouts, but we would highly recommend going! 🪧 Begins at Elephant Hill Trailhead 🥾 10.8 miles (17.4km) & 1148 feet (350m) of elevation gain round trip 💦 Bring plenty of water and snacks. Even though there isn’t a ton of elevation gain, dehydration and exhaustion sneak up quickly in the desert ⏰ If you have time, you can make this a large loop to include Chesler Park 🔦 Bring a headlamp and an offline map if you’re doing this for sunset 🗑️ Always remember to leave no trace. This is especially important in the fragile desert environment🏜️ Is Canyonlands in Utah on your bucket list?👇 Follow us @cayleighanddavid for more adventure travel inspiration & hiking 🌎🏔️

Hanksville UTah plan
✨ You’ve just arrived in Hanksville, Utah, (population 219) so what do you do first? Welcome to the smallest adventure town you’ve never heard of. Adventures are limitless, and these are some of my top recommendations to every first time visitor. 1️⃣ Eat a burger at Stan’s — there’s only one right answer of what to do first, and it’s to eat at Stan’s. IYKYK. I’m so excited it’s desert season and my onion rings and nuggets are in the near future. 2️⃣ Visit Goblin Valley State Park — One of Utah’s most popular state parks with hoodoos, goblins, and endless places to explore. 3️⃣ Take a trip to Mars — There is an actual Mars Desert Research station located here. This is the largest and longest-running Mars surface research facility. Be respectful of the boundaries for viewing. 4️⃣ Photograph the popular Rainbow Hills — sure you’ve seen the photos thousands of times and some of the best bentonite hills in the world are located right here 5️⃣ Hike a slot canyon — Some of my favorite trails in this area are slot canyons. There are many non-technical slots you can explore on your own // Always be cognizant of the weather and never enter a slot if rain is anywhere in the forecast 6️⃣ Day trip to Capitol Reef National Park — Located less than an hour away, you’ll find the most underrated National Park in Utah. Going for the day? Look at hiking Cassidy Arch or Hickman Bridge and grabbing pie from Giffords is a MUST. 7️⃣ Off-road around Factory Butte — if you’re looking to off-road, this is the place to go, particularly Swing Arm City. This is a free ride area with countless hills, drops, and ridgeline tracks. Have you been to Hanksville? What else do you recommend to a first time visitor? ✨ #utah #hanksville #moonscape #mars
