The House of the Faun, constructed in the 2nd century BC during the Samnite period (180 BC), was a grand Hellenistic palace that was framed by peristyle in Pompeii, Italy.
The famous Alexander Mosaic, showing Alexander the Great was found in that exact villa.

The "Ring Lady" of Herculaneum, a Roman woman around 45 years of age who died during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. She was found surrounded by her gold jewelry and still wearing two gold rings on her left hand.

Chand Baori, the largest and deepest stepwell in India. It consists of 3500 narrow steps over 13 stories and extends 30 m into the ground. The oldest parts of the stepwell date from the 8th century, while the upper stories with the columned arcade around it were built in the 18th century
