Congratulations to the Air Engineering Technicians from class AETQC 25/008 on passing out of RNAESS at HMS Sultan!
These highly skilled engineers are now ready to begin Phase 2b of their training, heading to their next assignments at Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton, Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose, and RAF Marham, where they'll work on some of the most advanced aircraft in service, from F-35 Lightning jets to Wildcat and Merlin helicopters.
Trained to maintain and operate the Fleet Air Arm's cutting-edge aircraft, our Air Engineering Technicians are essential to keeping the Royal Navy mission-ready across the globe. Their expertise underpins every sortie, every deployment, every operation.
Well done to all the graduates, your dedication to engineering excellence helps keep Britain secure at home and strong abroad.

HMS Sultan marked Commonwealth Day on 9 March 2026 with a day of events celebrating the contribution of Commonwealth personnel to the Royal Navy. The Quarterdeck was Dressed Ship with flags from all fifty-six Commonwealth nations flying alongside the White Ensign.
The day brought together speakers from Aurora New Dawn, King's Group Academies Gosport Community Hub, the Royal Navy Commonwealth Network, the Naval Families Federation, and Royal Navy Family and People Support, offering Commonwealth personnel and their families information on everything from welfare and immigration support to education and community services.
The afternoon featured a lived experience panel where serving Commonwealth personnel shared their personal stories of service, alongside open networking and a celebration of the diverse heritage that makes HMS Sultan's community so strong.
This year's theme, "Unlocking opportunities together for a prosperous Commonwealth," was very much at the heart of everything. 🌍
