πŸ“’ URGENT HUMANITARIAN CASE
Diyaad IDP Camp, Baidoa – Somalia

Prepared by TARDO – Takulo Relief & Development Organization

TARDO (Takulo Relief & Development Organization) presents this urgent humanitarian case requiring immediate intervention and support.

A mother, Idoy Ali Moalim, has recently been displaced due to insecurity from Hudey village in Dinsor District to Baidoa. She is currently living in extremely difficult conditions at Diyaad IDP Camp.

Her 7-year-old son, Ibrahim Isack Mohamed, is in critical health condition. He is suffering from:
β€’ Persistent high fever
β€’ Severe diarrhea
β€’ Body edema
β€’ Other serious medical complications

He has also been unable to speak for the past four years.

The mother has no financial means to access proper medical care for her child. The family is living in extreme vulnerability and depends entirely on humanitarian assistance.

πŸ’” This is a child who deserves urgent medical care, protection, and hope for recovery.

This case represents not only one family’s suffering, but a broader humanitarian concern affecting vulnerable IDP communities.

As Takulo Relief and Development Organization (TARDO), we were honoured to participate in the Monthly Eviction Taskforce Meeting held on 29 June 2025 via an online platform. The meeting brought together representatives from civil society organisations, humanitarian agencies, and the South West State Commissioner for Refugees and IDPs, united in their efforts to safeguard the rights and dignity of displaced communities.

Convened by the Commission, the meeting aimed to enhance coordination and collaboration among key stakeholders to ensure lawful, rights-based responses to internal displacement and eviction. The key areas of discussion included:
β€’ Preventing forced evictions by increasing awareness and engagement with affected communities before any relocation
β€’ Promoting lawful tenancy agreements (notaayo papers) between landlords and IDPs to ensure security of tenure
β€’ Addressing gaps and challenges across all IDP catchments, including compliance issues, fundraising needs, and coordinated support efforts within the South West State

TARDO remains committed to advancing community engagement, protection of rights, awareness raising, verification processes, and delivering sustainable solutions for displaced and vulnerable populations.
